Caroline Flack announces her theatre debut

Caroline Flack has landed a starring role in a musical – and can’t wait to get on stage.

The presenter and Strictly Come Dancing champ wowed viewers with her skills on the dancefloor back in 2014, notching up perfect 10s and lifting the glitter ball trophy.

And now she’s taking her moves to a touring production of Gerswhin musical Crazy For You. She’ll play the lead role of Irene, opposite fellow Strictly winner Tom Chambers, who won the competition in 2008.

The Watermill Theatre Company production kicks off on 17 August in Plymouth, and will run until 9 December around the country.

After doing Strictly, Caroline hinted that she’d fancied doing musical theatre for years.

“I’ve found I really enjoy this kind of thing so maybe I could do something like a musical,” she said.

“That was what I wanted to do when I was younger and now I’m thinking, ‘Maybe I could tread the boards.”
