Essex Mag, a new entertainment and lifestyle magazine being launched in October 2016 will be run by Southend PR guru Lorna Onabanjo who has been confirmed as the Managing Editor of the new publication by consortium bosses.
Essex Magazine is formed through a partnership by local channel EssexTV and a media consortium, the publication will be predominately online with a quarterly print publication distributed throughout metropolitan Essex. The publication will be a tabloid magazine specialising in entertainment news, celebrity gossip and featuring interviews from public figures.
Onabanjo also a fashion designer is most known for her fashion brand Clustar which is described in an online bi as “a London-Essex based unique brand CluStar offers a complete bespoke tailoring service for men and women”. Prior to this Onabanjo worked for the local council and in various other PR positions and has previously managed an adult magazine.
As managing editor she is expected to spearhead the new tabloid through launch and oversea growth over the years as she works on a strategy to grow the new brand, she will run day to day operations of the magazine whilst also heading the board.
Further announcements on appointments are still to be made. EssexTV’s CEO Tim Tiernan welcomed the new partnership hailing it ‘amazing, it’s a step in the right direction for us to grow our news output too’
