Reality TV star Charlotte Crosby has been found guilty of drink driving.
The Geordie Shore star was handed a three-year driving ban after being caught more than twice the legal limit during a drive in Newcastle.
Crosby was also ordered to pay court costs of £1,185 while appearing in Newcastle Magistrate’s Court today.
Her lawyer Nick Freeman told the court the star had originally planned to get a taxi for her journey from the railway station to her hotel, but instead decided to drive.
She was pulled over by two police officers after they witnessed her ‘weaving down the road’ and was subsequently found to be twice over the legal limit.
Lawyer Freeman said Charlotte “accepts that she is the author of her misfortune” while adding that she is: “Bitterly ashamed, contrite and embarrassed”.
He also revealed that Charlotte had planned on attempting to crack America but after the conviction – her second for drink driving – she will no longer be able to get a visa.
“She would like to apologise to the court and her family,” he added. “She would like to apologise to her legions of fans and supporters who she has let down in a huge way.”
