Dappy ignites fury after defending use of N-word: ‘We took that word and made it our own’

He dropped new music called Eros Apollo yesterday, and while Dappy’s EP was praised as ‘fire’ by some fans, it certainly set Twitter alight but for all the wrong reasons after he was blasted for using the n-word.

Dappy was heavily criticised for his using of the word on his new tracks, and tried to defend himself on Tuesday morning.

Attempting to explain his use of the word, he said: “If the word N**** means black to you then your Racist.. We took that word and made it our own to p*** off the racists!!#FallBack !!”

The new EP, which was released on Christmas Day, includes new song Tarzan that sees him reunite with former N-Dubz co-star Tulisa, Guilty Conscience, Whipped and Tarzan 3.

Dappy, real name Costadinos Contostavlos, has defended his use of the word

The rapper, who is of Greek-Cypriot descent, offended listeners with the racist terminology which set Twitter ablaze.

Some passed it off as a publicity stunt, as one wrote: “Dappy wants attention and you lot are giving it to him, it’s all planned out man.”
