Barbara Windsor ‘to be made a Dame in New Years Honours list’ as EastEnders legend gets recognised

That’s DAME Babs to you

Legendary actress Barbara Windsor is to be made a Dame in the New Years Honours list, it has been reported.

The former Carry On star and EastEnders favourite will be recognised for her brilliant acting career and her tireless charity work.

The 78-year-old is an ambassador for Age UK, supports other charities championing the eldery, and she has also been the face of previous Poppy Day Appeals.

It is the latest chapter in Barbara’s remarkable life-story.

For decades Barbara Windsor, probably the most famous landlady in BBC1’s EastEnders and a star of the Carry On films, has performed in pantomime beside dames.

And now she is to become one herself in the new year honours list.
