An EastEnders star has tweeted support for the family of a 17-year-old stabbed to death last night as police officers launched a murder investigation.

The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the north London scene around half an hour after police were called to reports of a stabbing in Yoke Close, off North Road, Holloway.

No arrests have been made.

EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella, MBE, showed her support for the family of the teen, who has not been named. He died just minutes from where her brother was killed in 2008.

The actress was given an MBE in 2011 for her services to the prevention of knife crime following her half-brother Ben’s murder in 2008.

The teen has not yet been formally identified but police said they believe they know who the victim is and have informed his next of kin.

The anti-knife crime campaigner who played Kelly Taylor in the soap, tweeted: “Another life lost to knife crime in Islington last night. Someone else’s son, someone else’s brother. Hard to have hope sometimes.”
