Michelle Mone has come under fire on Twitter after claiming she loves having obsessive compulsive disorder.
“It can prove really useful in business,” she explained. “It makes you really organised. I’ve always said that if your drawers are organised, then your life will be too.
“So I love having OCD.”
However, the remarks did not go down well with those tuning in at home.
“I have ocd & really dnt think Michelle Mone does it is much more serious than she is making out she is making light of it #gmb,” tweeted one viewer called Claire.
“@GMB think u need 2 apologise over the Michelle Mone OCD item…. disrespectful #gmb.”
Shortly afterwards, Danielle Murphy wrote: “Interview with Michelle Mone was so disrespectful to sufferers of anxiety and OCD. Didn’t create awareness just turned it to a joke #gmb.”
Another viewer, named Joshua Harrison, then tweeted: “@GMB what Michelle Mone is saying is an insult to genuine #ocd sufferers. Please have some journalistic integrity. Organisation is not #ocd.”
Perhaps after reading some of the comments pouring in on Twitter, Michelle decided to post an explanation on her social media account.
She wrote: “There are different degrees of #ocd I have a mild version of it&have had to adjust. Don’t forget it is a real illness for others who suffer.”
However, the tweet wasn’t enough to calm down some of her furious online followers.
