One Direction star Louis Tomlinson will reportedly be drafted in to help the X Factor in its ‘ratings war’ against Strictly.
The BBC dancing show beat the singing competition as they went head-to-head for the first time on Saturday night.
According to The Sun, show bosses are hoping 1D star Louis will help to pull in more viewers by joining music mogul Simon Cowell at the judges’ houses stage, replacing regular helper Sinitta.
A source said: “Simon is pulling out the big guns as he is still determined to make this series a huge success.
“One Direction have always been big ratings winners and Louis is the most outspoken of the band. He won’t be afraid to tell people if they’re terrible, which Simon loves.”
The launch of Strictly on Saturday attracted an average of 8.7million viewers, a 41.7% share of the total audience, as fans tuned in to see this year’s celebrities paired up with their dancing partners.
At its peak, 9.7million people were watching.
