Toby Sheldon dead: Were drugs involved in Justin Bieber lookalike’s tragic death?

Questions have been raised regarding whether drugs were involved in the tragic death of Justin Bieber lookalike Toby Sheldon.

According to TMZ police found drugs in the motel room where his body was found.

An autopsy is believed to have taken place – but no cause of death has been given at this stage.

Toby, whose legal name is Tobias Strebel, rose to fame after he spent $100,000 to look like the pop star Justin.

The 35-year-old was reported missing earlier this week after he was last seen in West Hollywood on August 8 and his body was found in a motel room in the San Fernando Valley on August 21, reports TMZ.

His spokesperson confirmed the sad news to Mirror Celebs, saying: “I am beyond devastated to have heard the news about Tobias. Tobias was a kind, caring, and gentle soul that was dedicated and passionate to his music and career.

“For all the slings and arrows put forth against him, he always held his head high, treated everyone with respect, and had a warmth and glow to him that made anyone around him smile… My condolences go out to his family.”

After he was reported missing worried friend Mel Espinoza told ABC7.com: “This is very unusual for him to be missing. [There’s] no note or anything.”

Toby, who is thought to recently have split from his boyfriend, found fame after appearing on reality TV shows Botched and My Strange Addiction last year as he continued his quest to look like pop singer Bieber.

In one episode he is seen heading to the recording studio as he strives to emulate his idol.
