Rod Stewart hilariously struggles to climb in the back of his massive purple Rolls Royce

Rod Stewart finds getting into his car a little tricky

Rod Stewart manages to make a simple task of climbing into the back of a car look really difficult.

In hilarious images of the legendary crooner, Rod can be seen awkwardly clambering in to his purple Rolls Royce.

It’s right leg in, then left leg Rod, then you slide along the seats.

It was date night for Rod and his wife Penny Lancaster, as they enjoyed a meal at C Restaurant in Mayfair before returning to their car.

Just shimmy in and turn around Rod

Rod made a meal of getting in to the car first with Penny following close behind.

The 70-year-old singer had clearly made an effort for the night out and was looking very dapper in a head-to-toe gingham printed suit.

As he maneuvered into the back seat Rod even gave us a flash of his sexy paisley print socks.

It’s ok Rod, you’re nearly there…

And Penny looked equally as gorgeous, in a slinky nude slip with matching heels.

Here’s hoping Rod managed to succeed in his attempts at getting comfortable.

It wasn’t long ago that the singer admitted he didn’t even know how to boil an egg.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Rod told presenters Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid: “I couldn’t boil an egg to save my life, I really can’t. I’m embarrassed about it but I’ve never been in a position where I’ve had to cook.”

He was speaking out in support of his model wife Penny, who caused controversy on Loose Women earlier this month when she said on Loose Women that cooking “robs men of their masculinity” .

Rod was more than happy to reveal that he made up for his non-existent kitchen skills in other ways… ahem.

He joked: “My masculinity comes in other departments!”
