‘Thank you Jezza’: Chris Evans uses Jeremy Clarkson’s pre-recorded message to introduce Radio 2 Breakfast Show

Chris Evans poked fun at his Top Gear takeover today as he used Jeremy Clarkson’s voice to introduce his Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Subtle yet absolutely not.

The host said a big hello to his fans as he used a pre-recorded message by the former Top Gear host, saying: “You’re listening to Chris Evans’ BBC Breakfast Show on Radio 2.”

And if anyone missed that distinctive voice, we were left in little doubt when Chris then responded: “Thank you Jezza.”

We wonder if he was listening?

One Twitter user caught the moment and wrote: “Was that @JeremyClarkson introducing the Chris Evans Breakfast show on @BBCRadio2 ?”

The final Top Gear with the original line-up aired this weekend and Jeremy took the opportunity to thank his fans for all their support.

Richard Hammond and James May presented their final show without him, after he was sacked for a fracas with a producer.

Following the show, Clarkson posted his views and thanked fans.

He tweeted: “Many many thanks for all your support and encouragement over the years. So sad and sorry it’s ended like this (sic)”

Earlier in the day, Clarkson SLAMMED the BBC, claiming the corporation was “talking down” the show .

Chris Evans will take over from Jeremy on the show and will be joined by two co-hosts after May and Hammond ruled themselves out of the job
