Taylor Swift has made countless fans’ dreams come true with hefty cheques in the post, surprise meet and greets and boxes of presents – and this time it was two free tickets to see her live in Dublin.
The singer heard of two South African fans who had missed her Hyde Park gig after their plane was delayed – and decided to offer them a surprise to make up for it.
Radio DJ Stephanie Be and her friend Joe Crann only made the last few songs of the set and were left in tears after their British Airways flight was delayed.
She took to Twitter with a series of downcast tweets, writing: “There’s nothing like flying halfway across the world to see @taylorswift13 & then @British_Airways delaying the flight so I miss it.”
She later added: “Just landed at Heathrow and @taylorswift13 is about to walk on stage at Hyde Park. Im beyond devastated. There are no words..”
When British Airways then responded saying: “We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused, Stephanie! We hope you made the concert!”
Stephanie replied: “@panascape @BritishAirways made the last 3 songs. Plenty of tears were shed today. Absolutely broken. Horrific. Just horrific.”
However nothing goes unnoticed for long when Taylor’s around, and she soon caught wind of the disaster.
TayTay wrote: “@StephanieBe I’m really sorry you missed it but if you can get to Dublin I’ll buy you tickets! Sorry to hear about the travel nightmare. :(.”
Having managed to book flights to Ireland, and sharing a snap en route, Stephanie and Joe are in Dublin and shared a photo of some welcome cakes and prosecco with the caption: “In Dublin! Even the staff at @thegibsonhotel are rooting for me. Swifties are the best & they’re everywhere .”
A note read: “Congratulations Stephanie you made it!!! #yeswecan from fellow Swiftys at the Gibson Hotel.”
