Denial: Farah says he is “angry and frustrated” over accusations

Mo Farah has forcefully denied ever having taken performance-enhancing drugs.

The double Olympic champion has been embroiled in controversy this week after it was alleged that he missed two drug tests in the run-up to the 2012 Games in London.

Farah reportedly missed the tests in 2010 and 2011. Under UK anti-doping rules three missed tests in any 12-month period can lead to a four-year ban.

The Briton’s coach Alberto Salazar and training partner Galen Rupp are currently the subjects of doping allegations , which both deny.

But Farah issued a statement on Friday, insisting that he is wholly innocent of any wrongdoing.

“I have never taken performance enhancing drugs in my life and I never will,” wrote Farah.

“Over the course of my career I have taken hundreds of drugs tests and every single one has been negative.

“I’ve fully explained the only two tests in my career that I have ever missed, which the authorities understood, and there was never any suggestion that these were anything more than simple mistakes.
