Aww! Pregnant Rebecca Adlington shows off baby bump as she vows to return to work TWO MONTHS after having baby

Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington was spotted cradling her tiny baby bump at the Sports Personality of the Year awards in Glasgow on Sunday.

The newlywed recently announced that she’s expecting her first child with her husband, Harry Needs, in June and proudly showed off her modest three-month bump on the red carpet.

Rebecca, 25, who wore a stunning white clingy dress, was glowing as she stroked her stomach as she posed for the cameras.

The mum-to-be recently revealed that a water birth was ‘top of the list’ but admitted: ‘I would like the birth to be as natural as possible, but you can’t really plan it, can you?’

The Mansfield-raised athlete also plans to return to work just two months after her baby is born, saying that she plans to work throughout her pregnancy and hopes to be able to present the World Swimming Championships in early August.

In a bid to build a career as a television presenter after her baby is born, Rebecca said: ‘I’m planning to work through my pregnancy provided everything goes well.’

She added: ‘Women have been having babies for millions of years so there’s no need to wrap yourself in cotton wool. I’m due on June 4 and the World Swimming Championships are in early August, so I’d love to be ready to work by then.’

Along with running her own nationwide swimming academy alongside TV presenting, Rebecca has admitted that she felt inspired by her fellow female sports presenters who have managed to balance work with the demands of motherhood.

‘Sharron Davies is a mum and Gabby Logan brought her two kids with her to the Glasgow championships,’ she said.
