The Spice Girl, who has done her own judging stint on Jesus Christ Superstar, thinks the ex-Scary Spice is “perfect for the role”.
“I’m supporting my girl Mel B and of course she’s doing a brilliant job – I always knew she would,” she said.
And the mum-of-one has revealed she’s a big fan of the tough love, say it how it is style Mel has adopted.
“The dynamics are good this year because obviously Cheryl’s a little bit more diplomatic and Simon always has his piece to say but Melanie just says it how it is.
“Sometimes that can be a little bit hurtful but it’s good TV and some people respond well to that – someone just telling the blunt truth” – something she herself finds difficult to do.
“I find it difficult to be completely honest with people,” she told us.
“I don’t like hurting people’s feelings – I’m not saying Melanie does, but she doesn’t seem to mind as much.”
So who will Mel be backing to win this year’s show?
“The one guy who absolutely stands out is Andrea Faustini. I mean, he is phenomenal. He has so much soul, so he really appeals to me. As well as being a Spice Girls fan – I quite rate him for that too!”
