Reality TV veteran Alison Hammond is making her way back to prime time television by appearing on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing!

Alison was the second housemate to be evicted in the 2002 series of Big Brother (back when reality TV and Big Brother were still very new) and she has managed to keep herself on the box since then with appearances in I’m a Celebrity and Celebrity Masterchef.

She is currently appearing on ITV’s This Morning and has said that it would be an “absolute dream to represent the ‘big girls’ on the show.”

We all know Strictly has come under a lot of criticism over the years for its issues with older female presenters, among other things, and this year the show will be presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman following the departure of Bruce Forsyth. Finally.

Expect a varied mix of celebrities on this year’s Strictly with aspiring dancers from all corners of the entertainment world taking to the dance floor. Other celebrities appearing this year include Pixie Lott, Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, Tim Wonnacott from Bargain Hunt and Gregg Wallace from MasterChef

When we reached out to Alison’s people for a quick interview they shuffled us down to a posh press event organised by Gala Bingo where she was doing some press. Alison is one of the ambassadors in the Gala family, and she took some time out of her hectic schedule to answer some questions about her upcoming Strictly experience. You can read the full interview on the Gala Bingo website but for now here is a snippet to give you a taster.
